Jon Snow and further speakers announced for BMF2017

Channel 4 news anchor Jon Snow will be at Belfast Media Festival 2017, along with dozens of other fantastic speakers from across the industry.
Jon will be part of the panel during the “The importance of Journalism in an era of Fake News” discussion, which is taking place at 12:30pm in Theatre One on the second day of the conference. He’ll be joined by Dorothy Byrne, Channel 4 Head of News and Current Affairs, and Siobhan Sinnerton, Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, News and Current Affairs.
As well as Jon Snow, BMF2017 is also delighted to welcome a great selection of contributors and panelists from all sections of the media, including:
- Peter Fincham, Former Controller of BBC One and Director of Television at ITV, who will speak to Campbell Glennie about his career so far and what the future might hold (5:30pm on day one, Theatre Two)
- Dee Forbes, the Director General of RTÉ, will set out the channel’s strategy for the next five years during the Dan Gilbert Lecture presented by the Royal Television Society (12:45pm on day one, Theatre One).
- Jed Mercurio, writer and producer of Line of Duty, will being talking to William Crawley about what it takes to be a successful writer (3:30pm on day two, Theatre One).
- Producer John Yorke will be delivering a BBC Writersroom session on drama, looking at understanding the underlying shape of stories, structure and the history of screenwriting (12:30pm on day two, The Works).
