Sky One has this year refocused its strategy which will see the channel move to an edgier, more mischievous and grown up audience appeal, with a major return to entertainment.
This session will see Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky One, discuss exactly what it takes to win commissions, including the actual taster tapes and pitches for the new big scale entertainment formats heading to the channel in the New Year.
Sky One’s refocus has also seen the channel reach out to the Irish Independent production sector with an investment pot of €2.2m (£2m) as it searches for a new home-grown Irish hit entertainment show. Adam will give a clear steer on exactly the type of shows and commissions Sky One is keen to see following the recent callout to Irish Indies.
The content investment fund for Ireland is part of Sky’s commitment to invest in local production in each of its territories, with cross-over appeal to Sky customers across Europe. In Italy, Sky has produced international hits The Young Pope and Gomorrah, and this year will bring Babylon Berlin, one of the most ambitious non-English language series ever made in Germany, to customers across the Group.
If you want to know what will work on Sky One and hear about how to develop ideas, this session is not to be missed.
