Commissioning Editor - Factual Entertainment, Channel 4

Becky Cadman, Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment at Channel 4 has extensive experience developing and producing across reality entertainment hits such as Got To Dance, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, The Jump, Love Island and several others.

Currently the Commissioner on – Naked Attraction, Sex Tape, Peng Life, Old People’s Home For Four Year Old’s, The Hangover Games & Shipmates

The Factual Entertainment team are on the lookout for noisy and fun primetime entertainment shows in the form of 8pm features like Travel Man and big broad 9pm ideas with the same appeal as Googlebox.

Outlandish and socially provocative ideas are key post watershed. An example of this would be My Week as a Muslim. Warm hearted content with a strong authenticity of subject matter is also desirable. Forthcoming Flirty Dancing, for example, brings a new take to finding love by matching people through a dance with a tone of a Hollywood musical.

New talent is very important, Channel 4 are actively seeking the next generation of surprising talent to build shows around. A prime example of this would be Elijah Quashie; the internet sensation behind The Chicken Connoisseur who fronts The Peng Life, a consumer series that asks whether it’s pennies or pounds that will get you the best things in life.

On Channel 4 and E4 late night it’s all about channelling youth-skewed territories and viewpoints as seen in forthcoming Sex Tape. Cadman said in a press release that Sex Tape “promises a unique fly on the wall look at relationships as they really happen including the good, the bad and the ugly”.
