About

Do you want to be part of Northern Ireland’s next generation of filmmakers? If so join BBC Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen for the launch of the ninth series of their hugely successful Two Minute Masterpiece initiative.

Two Minute Masterpiece has helped over 40 people In Northern Ireland realise their dream of making a short film. The films, some screened internationally at festivals across three continents, have helped propel a number of the filmmakers to successful careers in the industry – with one winning a prestigious Celtic Media Award for Best Animation.

If you believe you’ve got what it takes to be a successful filmmaker, and have a great idea that you feel needs to be made – then come along and find out how you can get involved this time around. Watch the latest Two Minute Masterpiece films and hear from filmmakers and mentors talk about their experience in the process.

In this Two Minute Masterpiece session the most recent series of commissioned films will be screened as well as some favourites from previous years. Marie-Louise Muir will be chatting to a panel of filmmakers, mentors and industry experts  –  Christopher McCann (A Bond Like No Other), Clio Young-McGahey (Dream Dog) Claire Corrigan (How’s She Cuttin’) and Krzysztof Chudoba (Skate School of the North) as well as Georgia Sawyer (Divis Tower, Both Sides Now) from series two and Lauren McCune from series three. As well as the filmmakers Marie-Louise will be talking to award winning producer, writer and script editor Keith Martin (who mentored Claire Corrigan)  and NI Screen’s Short Film Executive Christine Morrow.
